Stewart-Schafer's challenge in designing this serene four-bedroom contemporary home overlooking Wisconsin's Twin Lakes was designing a space that immersed guests within the property's natural beauty while also finding a way to do this in both the depths of winter and the warmth of summer. Our team found that constructing the house with exterior cladding most organically situated it amongst its pristine surroundings. Large windows cut through the cladding to both capture light and allow for majestic views from each of the home's main living areas. Outside, simplistic and rhythmic lines form a cascading staircase that gracefully allows guests to descend from a seemingly levitating deck to a floating dock.
